THRU THE BLUE WALL: 1965

 torches
thrust owls
from their
blue tapestries

************

sun-postered swamp
stone voices
buy old clothes

************

 world of echoes

like a box
of sounding boards

************

sun lasers
scorch
through our
cool tenements

************

 a glossy summer
in the black park

*************

in trainfalls
nitrous windows

crumpled crabs

**************

serpents
swimming in neon
between words

**************

 a green radio
plays blues
for a lonely
zoo

****************

You
                     helmsman
lonely of stars

borne
thru the blue wall

beyond freedom

soaring
above the clouds

above the sky

****************

 saloon system
crawling to
coalsack nebula

lonely nets
snag
clumps of light
in sinfall

so can a soft-souled girl
touching free-depths
redeem deerslayer?

*****************

in sunken pools
in darker rooms of rain

they are moving

drinking

dry light

******************

 as reptiles
coil in chlorine

a dragon-bat
explores the
naked freedom

between worlds

*****************

heard
Jonah's weep

from vast
raw sea flesh

sigh

******************

 smoke
                  time
sea-gull
white bird
where is the sea

                  the random wash
                   the huge rhythm
                   the free leap
                                 sunward
                                          shining?
